Why TSR Software has a VALUE that matches cost:...<back>

I basically designed all TSR Software around the idea of blowing away the old idea of "Speed Secrets' or "Black Art in Pipes". It worked!!

Some people think like this...............
Software has to be proportionally cheaper related to cost of engines. (MX engines $2500.00 and Port2000 is $200.00) -- $50.00 for tiny model engine -- so Port2000 should be $4.00?, or because a buyer is not a shop making money off multiple hop-ups it should be cheaper?. ......Think again !

This software works on most ALL engines, making it worth More than software that is targeted for a specific niche like models or only bigger engines like MX bikes, GP bikes, Karts, etc.

SAE stuff is for all practical purposes 'Not very good' according to buyers I've talked to (including SAE sales tech people). The little engine simulators I've bought, do not work anywhere close to a real world engine. Gordon Blairs got a new one people will really like, he's selling the new one, (this will really scare you) for approx. $16,000.00. A wave simulator, and for $1000.00 a day he'll teach you how to run it. Figure $18000.00 to get up and running on that one, minimum. NO discounts for anyone, little or big engines or hobbyist. (Note:.. Blair is retired now and has someone else working on this)

That's my point, engine size or the fact a person is a hobbyist, hasn't any bearing on cost of product. Port2000 and Newpipe are LARGE programs with 30+ years of World Records and Research behind them. In other words they work, based on experience and good math, but are not too cheap or too expensive for Serious Tuners, (any level). It has been proven by all my customers feedback that they also have successfully built record setters, and great play engines. Remember the majority of 2-strokes are used in PLAY vehicles so they really are just toys, or what you can afford to PLAY with. Toys come in many price ranges, people buy what they can afford to PLAY with. My Software is a tool to tune your TOYS and just like your TOYS, it is not a necessity, but it sure makes designing your TOYS to make more HP much easier.

I've modified the my software to suit individual needs. When was the last time you called Microsoft and actually got them to change something to suit your personal need?? Never happen, right? You get the idea.

The price has come down on Port and Pipe software as it has been for sale since 1992 and I'm finally recouping time and effort it took to LEARN and DESIGN 2-Strokes and now the Software. DOS is not the factor you think it is. For math related programs, .....you don't need big clumsy Windows graphic shells to do math programs. If I can do my pipe program in less than 500,000 bytes, why would it be to anyone's benefit to do it as a windows program and require 5-10 million bytes of storage? Doing all this in Windows would require a price increase.

I have to refer to my Quote on my site, "If You spent 38+ years learning 2-Strokes and another 15 + years on Software (to this point). would be you be dumb enough to Give it Away"! Truthfully, ...I seriously doubt it !

Please remember I didn't have to sell my products at all, but I can tell it has benefited hundreds of shops and tuners that actually own it, greatly. So for a relatively SMALL fee they advanced their education to a higher level. I wish I had that chance to do this back when I started out in the 60's.
