World Top Speed Record was set by Ed Erlenbach on an Unfaired Gas burning Yamaha RD-424cc bike at 159.115 mph over 1.5 mile length course. The event was held Sunday April 27th-1997 and was the annual Southern California Timing Association (SCTA) called Muroc Reunion. The meet was held on an Edwards Air Force base high speed runway. Ed gives credit to engine builder Tom Turner of TSR 2-Stroke Racing Software for the HP magic it took to propel his Super Fast 20+ year old RD424cc bike to this amazing speed. All of bike preparation was handled by Ed and the fiberglass parts on bike were sponsored by Air Tech.
On 04/27/97 a New World Land Top Speed Record was set by bike Owner, Rider and Tuner Ed Erlenbach. No FAIRING!
